Sushi Burrito on a Sunday

Usually Sunday's for me is a day to pretty much netflix and chill. This Sunday however, the sun was out and sitting inside just felt wrong.

Earlier last week my boyfriend (Beau) and I were walking downtown near the Eaton's Centre and stumbled upon a small restaurant called Rolltations offering up the newest craze in town... the sushi burrito. It's a huge sushi roll wrapped up in a burrito. Pretty self explanatory lol. I told Beau we definitely need to come back to this little shop at 207 Dundas Street West at Dundas and University Avenue, steps from St. Andrew Station. Since this Sunday I was itching to go outside and also feeling peckish, I decided that we should make our way down and grab a burrito.

The place is super small with limited bar stool seating however, there are numerous places around to grab and go sit outside. We came around 3pm, which is not lunch nor dinner so it was pretty quiet. The place is super cute with wall decor on the one side depicting all things Toronto, from snow, to beach umbrellas, squirrels and of course the Raptors (We The North).

Now to the food. I ordered the Classic Salmon poke bowl while Beau stuck to the build your own sushi burrito. I love that there is an option to pick the pre-selected choice or to build your own. The menu offered amazing choices however, some you may not necessarily think to put in your sushi, like tangerine! If you want to play it safe, like I did, stick with the pre-selected options or be a risk taker and build your own with interesting flavours. They have a variety of options to choose from so your choices are not limited.

All in all the sushi burrito and poke bowl were AMAZING! With a little twist on classic sushi this bandwagon is definitely one I am jumping on and will continue to do so whenever a sushi craving kicks in.

Hope you enjoyed this first blog post and stay tuned for more goodness!!

xoxo Lisa H.
